Took it to two different Ford dealers because the first Ford dealer tried to charge me. I expressed my concerns since it's the same exact transmission clutch shudder issue attempted to be fixed the first time, and why are only certain lucky Ford owners experiencing the same issue the only ones privileged to be reimbursed. I would also like a seat warmer for the winter. I don't know what we're going to do, but we will never buy another Ford. Used engines incorporate no updates and are extremely susceptible to failure due to mileage already being on the engine with questionable maintenance records.
So Ford says tough luck to me - while I find this terrible that with hands free and safety concerns that Ford would not stand behind this issue when they know they have one. I also found that they had very limited empathy to the fact that my car was so significantly impacted by a clear manufactory issue that I almost got into a significant accident and was fearful for my life while driving it recently. Until I started a search to see if anyone else had this issue I was unaware of the danger of fire. I love it, very comfortable for a truck and runs like a top. Longevity can be hit or miss. He went through two of those trucks and took each one to 250k miles before trading them in with no major problems. I have 3 f-250's with the 5.
How do the transmissions compare between these two trucks? Truck has 74,000 miles and the repair isn't covered by Ford. At 32,000 miles and 3 years old we had paint bubbling on the passenger side rear door where the door skin is crimped around the door shell. They do not cause it to run bad just a little annoying if you have a quite exhaust. Requested a supervisor to call me back. I kept on clarifying her statements and requesting for her to note to speak to another supervisor in case they had other information.
And this is not a good thing for you and I am not threatening you I am just voicing point on my vehicles that I have bought from Ford Motor Company. Took it back March 2019. Around 7K miles, shifting from one gear to another became difficult. I could always add one but other than that, I don't have anything that I dislike about it. I have a 2001 Ford f150 5. I am looling to purchase a used F150 or Z71 but would like some mechanical opinions on the durability of these two engines? The lifters can be finicky and the cylinder heads have to come off to change them.
Fast forward 30k miles and 3 yrs of use. Further research turned up that Ford is well aware of this problem and extended a warranty for 7 years or 100,000 miles to replace the transmission. If the truck doesn't fall apart you should be able to hit 500k. The body style is very sharp and I love the heated seats. Still waiting of cost of repairs.
Blades ices up most of the time. The amount of maintenance each particular truck received over the 100k miles is going to be far more important in determining how reliable it is for you than which brand it is. But the next one we bought had a little condensed mirror attached to the rear view mirror that enables me to see a wider area. Ford has declined to stand behind their products and will not pay any of the repair. I helped a co worker and he had 4 break. Starting to get a little cold-weather-start lifter tick at 100K.
The contact was advised to call the Ford manufacturer. This is a widely reported problem with this model and is an obvious manufacturer defect due to insufficient thread depth in the head. Remember, this is a completely remanufactured engine with new wear parts, exacting tolerances and live-run tested reliability. Its a nice truck but I like my ford better. I would be looking at an 04-06 with roughly 100k mileage.
Found out it was a recall online. Send out a recall on the cheap Wear out in time not usage parts body mount bushings. It goes well in all types of weather and repairs are fairly inexpensive. First time I took it in January 2019 , they said the tech couldn't duplicate it, so I took him for a drive. My dad always drives the 5. He saw what it was doing but because his little laptop didn't show anything, he wrote on the work order he couldn't confirm the issue.
