The stock Goodyears always seemed a little weak on grip, so we decided to look for something more aggressive. We drove it hard, and it's still as rakishly good-looking inside and out as the day it arrived here. Pretty much anything to do with Lexus is welcome here! It's the type of vehicle that can make or break a maker's reputation and bottom line, as well. The bodywork is rust-free after 12 years! SeatingFilter selectedSeatingList, null ; seatingFilter. The drive is superbly smooth with an 8 speed auto. SinceLastVisitFilter false, 1557443336021 ; listingsSearchManager.
Motorway driving is reasonably economical at around 35mpg. But the Lexus brand is always the most refined, quiet, most kit and satisfying to own. Not a single squeak or rattle. Even with traction control, the car refused to budge up a gentle slope, so snow tires are a must for 17-inch-wheel customers living in the Snowbelt. Gas milage and maintenance are costly items, but better than German vehicles. My one major complaint is the sat nav. The leather seats are good I have experienced more supportive seats, but never mind.
The braking is also pretty good good. For town driving the Eco mode makes you feel you're floating on air, incredibly quiet, simply purrs and gently moves along with a considerable air of complete satisfaction, as opposed to the brash ,noisy roars emanating from Bm's,and Audi boy racers around you. I have the top of the range so it has all the kit you need to look after and pamper you. Lexus have done a great job of being different and exclusive. I love the way it handles. The big service at 30,000 miles called for replacement of the brake fluid, coolant, and air filter in addition to the items in the previous services. We were also amazed at how well the light tan interior held up after all our hard use.
We got into the habit of turning off the traction control soon after starting the car except when the weather turned ugly. Most people don't seem to like the mouse type joystick to control the media system but I love it because when you get use to it, is quick jumping to different commands. The rotary system on other cars seems primitive and for less skilled users. I have had to top the oil up at about 5000 miles from the previous service Probably the best car I have owned. Didn't even need to change a light bulb. Car was bought 9 months ago for my 17 year old son, and so far we've been lucky with repairs, but on high mileage cars its only a matter of time before foreign car part prices kick in.
But the Lexus brand is always the most refined, quiet, most kit and satisfying to own. It's an outstanding car for driving fast - good pick-up and holds the road very well. There was no improvement on the skidpad due to—we think—the terminal understeer the car exhibited at its traction limit. You're sitting too deep, too low. I wouldn't want to race a comfortable four door saloon car around unless you want to make your family sick and lose your licence. The ultra-quick steering gave the car an agile, sporty feel but also made it a handful to keep in a straight line on long highway slogs or on truck-grooved roads.

Something is clearly amiss but there appears to be a reluctance to determine what the cause of the fault is and a suitable remedy. It is faster than that of many other cars on the road. I have noticed that when journalist gives a good rating on a car it gets a not so good rating from the owners and vice versa. Then journalist consider these as less important. Agreed you may pay a bit more for the Lexus but worth every penny. I love this car and would recommend it to anyone.
The interior also gets a modest upgrade, with a bigger infotainment screen and better integrated center console. I was sick and tired of literally being thrown about in my small european car. The acceleration, and sheer grip and control are superior. But anyone would know how comfortable a car is in the real world. I wouldn't buy a jacket that everyone else wears even if it is the best. Bought this car to replace my Lexus diesel as my annual mileage had reduced dramatically plus a big factor was 'reliabilty'. Simply with some kind of proof to have this applied.
Very quiet inside, very agile and responsive. In terms of quality and reliability we can find no fault with this vehicle. The primary battery is not holding its charge and although the local dealer has checked it out, they state there is nothing wrong. The first occurred at 18,747 miles, when an underbody panel came loose and began to drag on the pavement. The car is now running like it should but it has taken 18 months to get it like that. My biggest beef is that it has developed a fault where the car won't start so much so, I've had to call upon Lexus Assistance twice in 3 weeks for help.
