Left side of the drivers foot well is a wiring harness going vertically by the foot well light. Posted on Jul 02, 2010 I had a similar problem with my '02 Focus. After you plug the harness in you can then connect the radio wires together. Then it jumped and hesitated all the time. There will be a plastic connector on each side that must be separated to insert the wiring harness connector. Follow the instructions provided with the connector to determine which connector belongs in which side of the vehicle.
I cut the current ones out and used heat shrink and electrical tape to reconnect the new. Without know how much juice normally runs through can not recommend using for powering a stereo, but for low amp applications it should work and does for my cruise switch. You can be done in about 30 minutes even as a novice. Dec 21, 2017 If the radio itself is not recieving any signal, it is time to replace the radio. This harness plugs into your original equipment radio harness and allows you to plug any aftermarket radio into the stock deck wires. Your local autoparts store or circuit city or best buy or audio express will have these radio conversion plugs. These are getting cheaper and cheaper in certain cars. The documentation with the new radio should provide the pins and plugs and what is on them. Had to install a cruise control on my 12 Focus, Rostra brand aftermarket , and had to find a 12v ignition wire.
