I too have an intermittent instrument cluster. Pretty common problem with these. If you would like a solution, the stepper motors will need to be replaced. The speedometer would become stuck and after a few days would function normally. If it is the same problem that appeared on my '04, it is going to be the instrument cluster. I have not been able to fine any recall on this matter. All the gauges stopped working and we have to tap on it to get it to work and now it has gotten even worse and I feel that there should be a recall on these because why should we continue to spend our money on getting replacements and they do the same thing. Your speedometer wont work right and it will probably shift wrong or wont shift at all because the transmission relies on the speed signal to know when to shift. You'll need to use a small tool to pry out on the tabs while pulling up on the lens assembly to remove it. This is more than likely the cause of a speeding ticket I got back in may 2009.
