Radio would turn on, lights would turn on, and key fob would even open sliding doors. I think static got something. The automatic door locks no longer work. I swapped the identical switches from passenger to driver side , no difference. The lights flashed and the horn sounded, but the doors did not lock. They locks operated properly for approximately 5 to 10 days before he had to disconnect the battery cable again.
If you look into all the complaints about this specific car stalling randomly you will see that there is a huge issue with this in many years of this car and someone is going to get hurt if they haven't already due to this issue with this specific make and model. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the key fob was working correctly and the cause of the failure could not be determined. Also, when I try and hit the rear door button on the overhead console, when the rear doors are locked they still will not work. By the way, the electric rear gate works just fine. And that's when I cleaned it, and for a few months now, there is no problem. The approximate failure mileage was 143,000. The door looks are a pretty basic feature of a vehicle.
I am reporting it now because I recently read of this happening to other children with more serious consequences and want to add to the record with our experience. The contact was able to restart the vehicle usually on the first attempt. The only way to enter the vehicle was to unlock the doors manually. Soccermomof4 answered 6 years ago Thank you! I've checked the fuses in the engine compartment, and they are all there and healthy. When you pull the fuse you are clearing the computer codes and the locks work fine until that switch acts up. But the fuse was fixing it temporarily and the doors were not trying to open.
I fear for my safety every day and have already forked way too much money into it trying to find a solution to the problem. Instead, there is a relay embedded in the driver side rear sliding door, but that was not the problem. I feel we were very lucky that she was so young and small that her fingers were not hurt more and that she had not managed to get her entire hand into the door. The failure mileage was 100,000. Then the problem was back again. When the fuel tank was half full, the vehicle immediately ran out of fuel. We've gasoline in our blood for pity's sake Hoooo-yahhh! The front doors work just fine. I know of two other personal friends who own this same van model who have similar issues in my area. There is much advice on the internet for temporary fixes that require opening the hood and unhooking the battery cable daily to reset a computer etc. Yesterday all the locks stopped and the fuse trick would not work.

The incident happened about a year ago and I assumed it was a fluke accident and did not report it sooner. Cars should not be stalling out while driving.
