Inside of chassis, doors, sills, pillars etc etc. Ran a Range Rover Club trip at Mt Walker a few weeks ago and visited that spot, everyone go through that little gully with platic bits in tact, but access height would certainly remove a pesky rear bumper!! Removing the damper gave me a clear view of the bolt head and some precious working room as well. So, I did it the next time I went out. Oct 30, 2015 Unhook battery Remove door card torx and Phillips needed the window frame needs to come out to get clearance remove the lock bolts in side of door torx very tight unplug the loom from the lock and unhook the rod from the inside pull handle once done the actuator comes out leaving the lock barrel clipped to the door - replace in reverse expecting it to take a while and don't break the plastic clips holding in the actuator rods or they will fall out down the line. Replace your old bumper with this rugged, top quality replacement bumper! And the important word here is stock. To finish Need to find and purchase shackle mounts Need to weld on my bottle opener Maybe add a hitch tube, but as yet untill the tank is protected, I'll happily just bash the towing assembly Need to take yet another look at possibly fixing the lower quarter protectors to the frame some how…. You can also see the custom bracket for the cross over relay just behind the batteries. Looking through the photos, My main concern was trimming the edges to match the radius of the wheel well trim.
Design approach Having looked at the offerings on the net , including slim line versions etc etc a few concerns were highlighted. Who ever it was, brilliant. Dowd the Britpart bumper fits perfectly, no noodling. To add some protection to the underside of the Rover we have installed the front skid plate and added a front diff guard seen above. Rear bumpers are designed to accommodate the stock hitch mount. A little searching revealed the cost of a new one and I don't think I need it that much! It looks clean and functional, the way we like it.
The differential is the point on the vehicle most vulnerable to catastrophic damage on the trail. Suppose something is better than nothing though. On looking behind there is the inner wheel arch which needed removal as well but instead, I ground off the lower mounting point rivet and simply bent up the panel towards the rear at the higher stanchion.
